Kentut Astronot Bisa Ledakkan Pesawat Ruang Angkasa

Jakarta, Karena mengandung gas-gas yang mudah terbakar, kentut seorang astronot diyakini bisa terakulumasi dan memicu ledakan di dalam pesawat ruang angkasa. Oleh karena itu, diet seorang astronot harus disesuaikan agar tidak banyak kentut.

Gas-gas yang mudah terbakar yang bisa ditemukan dalam kentut antara lain hidrogen dan methane. Bila terakumukasi di dalam ruang tertutup, keduanya bisa meningkatkan tekanan dan apabila mencapai kondisi paling ekstrem maka secara teori bisa memicu ledakan.

Mengingat pesawat ruang angkasa dibuat sangat tertutup agar udaranya tidak keluar, maka astronot diyakini berada dalam bahaya jika terlalu banyak kentut. Apabila kedua gas yang mudah terbakar itu terakumulasi, dikhawatirkan ledakan akan terjadi di dalam pesawat ruang angkasa.

Risiko ini bisa dicegah dengan diet atau pemilihan menu makan tertentu, seperti yang diteliti oleh 2 ahli gizi di Amerika Serikat, Edwin L Murphy dan Doris H Calloway. Keduanya membandingkan diet para astronot dalam 2 misi penerbangan yang berbeda.

Penelitian yang dipublikasikan tahun 1969 itu menunjukkan, perbedaan menu makan bisa membuat komposisi gas dalam kentut para astronot berbeda. Dalam penelitian ini, kedua jenis diet yang digunakan dibedakan dengan kode tertentu yakni diet S dan diet F.

"Dalam 12 jam, astronot yang makan diet S mengeluarkan 3-206 mL hidrogen dari anus dan 24-156 mL dari paru-paru. Dengan diet F, hidrogen yang dihasilkan hanya 0-3 ml dari anus dan 6-36 mL dari paru-paru," kata para peneliti seperti dikutip dari situs io9, Selasa (17/1/2012).

Para peneliti tidak menyebutkan apa saja perbedaan menu makan yang terdapat di kedua jenis diet tersebut. Namun secara teori, produksi gas-gas pencernaan yang dikeluarkan melalui kentut bisa meningkat ketika banyak mengonsumsi kol, umbi-umbian dan minuman bersoda.

Selain hidrogen dan metana, pada umumnya kentut juga tersusun dari berbagai macam gas lainnya yang tercampur menjadi satu. Beberapa jenis gas yang banyak ditemukan dalam kentut antara lain oksigen, serta hidrogen sulfida yang memberikan bau tidak sedap.

Gas-gas tersebut diproduksi oleh bakteri-bakteri di pencernaan, sebagai hasil penguraian asam amino, glukosa dan asam lemak di dalam perut. Seseorang masih bisa dikatakan normal jika mengeluarkan gas kentut antara 0,5 liter hingga 2 liter dalam sehari.

Tips Memasak Menggunakan Rice Cooker

Sebagian orang hanya memanfaatkan rice cooker untuk memasak nasi saja. Padahal alat ini bisa kita manfaatkn untuk membuat masakan lainya.  Pada dasarnya, masakan yang berbasis cara pengolahan dengan direbus dan dikukus dapat dimasak menggunakan rice cooker. Misalkan yang berikut ini:

1. Memasak agar-agar/puding.
   yang paling simple rebus agar-agar dengan gula pasir dan air. Cara ini adalah cara memasak agar-agar paling tradisional.
2. Memasak bubur kacang hijau
   Saat memasak bubur kacang hijau menggunakan rice cooker caranya hampir sama dengan saat kita memasak nasi. Caranya rebus kacang hijau yang telah dicuci menggunakan rice cooker. Ketika indikator menunjukan proses memasak telah selesai segera angkat rebusan kacang hijau dari rice cooker. Namun apabila ternyata kacang hijau belum matang (ditandai dengan bijinya yang mulai lunak dan merekah) tambahkan air hingga kacang hijau matang. Sendokkan ke dalam mangkuk, tuang gula pasir sesuai selera, juga bubuhkan sedikit garam. Santannya? Tuangkan santan instan (saya lebih suka menggunakan yang bubuk karena masih bisa disimpan setelah dibuka), lalu tuangkan air panas ke dalam mangkuk tersebut. Hmm, semangkuk bubur kacang hijau semi instan siap dinikmati. Untuk santan jangan direbus menggunakan rice cooker karena biasanya air santan akan meluap-luap saat direbus, dan menyulitkan kita untuk membersihkan rice cooker setelah dipakai.
3. Memasak bubur ayam.
   Rebus daging ayam bersamaan dengan beras dan air untuk takaran bubur, untuk memasak bubur ayam usahakan air lebih banyak daripada untuk memasak nasi biasa. Setelah air mendidih dan beras melunak, aduk secara terus-menerus hingga beras menjadi hancur, daging ayam pun biasanya hancur, dagingnya terlepas dati tulang, jika air kurang tambahkan air. Tambahkan garam, daun salam, sedikit saus tiram jika anda anda menyukainya, dan kaldu ayam.
4. Sayur asem
   Haluskan bumbu sayur asem berupa bawang merah, bawang putih, cabe merah, kemiri dan terasi. Rebus semua bumbu di dalam rice cooker sampai mendidih. Setelah mendidih, Masukan sayuran ke dalamnya . Beri garam, Gula dan vetsin secukupnya. Tutup, Tunggu hingga matang.
5. Telur Pindang
   Tuangkan sedikit air dan margarin pada rice cooker, Kemudia masukkan telur satu butir, taburi sedikit garam di atas permukaan telur, jangan terlalu banyak karena margarine biasanya sudah asin. Tunggu hingga telur pindang anda matang.
6. Memasak nasi uduk
   Masukkan beras yang telah dicuci ke dalam wadah rice cooker. Tambahkan santan kara dan air sebanyak yang dibutuhkan aduk hingga rata. Kemudian masukkan daun salam, serai, garam, aduk lagi hingga rata. Setelah kira kira nasi sudah 3/4 masak. Aduk lagi hingga santan merata dan tutup kembali, tunggu hingga nasi menjadi benar-benar masak. Dan masih banyak olahan lain yang bisa kita masak menggunakan rice cooker.
